If you’ve never downloaded something off the Japanese eShop, here’s a quick guide. All you need to do is have a Japanese Nintendo Switch user and a connection to the eShop.
Part 1: Making Your Japanese Switch Account
If you don’t already have one, making a Japanese Switch account is very easy. Head over to Nintendo’s account page at http://accounts.nintendo.com/
If you’re logged in to your existing account, log out or use a different web browser or browser user profile.
Select Create A Nintendo Account
Follow the prompts and fill out information. Use a different e-mail than your current Nintendo Switch account.
Set your Country/region of residence to Japan
Continue through the process, verifying your e-mail until your account is successfully created.
Turn on your Nintendo Switch.
On the home menu, go to System Settings and navigate to the Users section.
Select Add User.
Select Create New User. Don’t import a user from another console.
Follow the on-screen steps for logging into your newly created account on the switch. Once you have followed the instructions, you will be able to log into the eShop using your new Japanese user.
Part 2: Downloading The Buddy Mission BOND Demo / Trial
If you haven’t already, log into the eShop using your Japanese Switch account.
Once logged in, the user interface will now be entirely in Japanese. Select the Search option (marked with a magnifying glass.)
In order to search with English characters, select the keyboard option highlighted in red in the image below. Then type in “bond.” Select Search.
Buddy Mission BOND should be the only, or one of the only, games that shows up. Select the game
Once on the store page, select the second option under the game’s price. The option is highlighted in the below image.
Once selected, you’ll receive a download confirmation. Click OK.
On your home menu, the demo should be downloading! Start the game up with whichever user profile you prefer. Buddy Mission BOND has no existing DLC. If you wanted to be safe, you should use your Japanese account in case any gets added in the future.
