It’s been awhile since I started writing. A couple of years at least. Although, sometimes it feels like forever. Throughout that time, I’ve written quite a few articles (although much more frequently as of late, thanks to actually having a decent writing job.)
Over that time, I have built up a lot of article ideas and a desire to write about certain games or things, but can never find the right way to do so – Tomodachi Collection is one of those games.
Also known as Friend Collection once translated, I think Tomodachi collection’s trailer above is pretty self explanatory. It’s like a mix of the nurturing nature of Tamagotchis and the relationship side of The Sims, but they’re about fifteen times more talkative and speak three times as fast.
It’s a weird looking DS game, but has done surprisingly well in Japan. I’ve been horrendously interested in this game from time to time over the last couple of years since its release in 2009. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that it’s something different from Animal Crossing or if it is that it seems to hold remnants of the canceled Gamecube title Stage Debut, but I really want this game.
Despite its success in Japan, it probably won’t come here due to issues in relation to the text to speech system in the game, but it looks fun and I love the music and the chatterbox Miis. Plus, it actually lets your Miis be the star of the show! Unlike most games that simply use them as an avatar.
Recently, it’s been on my mind a lot. I’ll start singing the music in my head and swaying my head back and forth like the Miis do while idling in their homes. I’d still love to write a suitable article in relation to it, but I doubt anything new will pop up in my head for now. But who knows. Without a copy of the game to play, the only thing I can do is to continue to research it and see if that sparks anything.
That or maybe the upcoming sequel will help. Although it’s hard not to find it creepy after what we saw.
