I don’t think many people remember DSiWare fondly. It has some fun little games, but it wasn’t a service most people were actively using. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the library myself, but I do enjoy seeing all these weird $1 to $2 downloadable titles Nintendo published. It feels like they were trying to make mobile games well before they would commit to smartphones.
Spotto in concept is kind of like Angry Birds, although it came out before it. The main character, Spotto, is an angry bird equipped with bombs. The president’s daughter has been stolen by ghosts. Is Spotto a bad enough bird to save her?
Yeah, he is.
The core of the game is essentially lobbing bombs at ghosts on the top screen. The only control you have is the trajectory of the lob. Get a bomb into a ghost’s mouth, and they explode into pieces that bounce around the room. Spotto is a badass and doesn’t take shit from ghost terrorists.
It’s a fun little game. But to be honest, if it wasn’t developed by Intelligent Systems who is team behind Fire Emblem and the Paper Mario series, I probably wouldn’t have had any interest in it.
