Yumi’s Odd Odyssey, also known as Sayonara UmiharaKawase, is a really cute and charming game. I love the bizarre yet realistic backgrounds, the wildly out of control swinging mechanics, the adorable enemies and cute characters. If you haven’t heard of it before, I highly recommend checking it out on 3DS, PSVita or Steam. I even wrote an article about the whole game.
An essential part of the game’s charm is the music. It’s light and relaxed, which is necessary. This game can be brutally tough. The upbeat and charming music helps wash away all of your frustrations. All the levels take place over water and have two-legged sea creatures as enemies. So it’s fitting that many of the tracks give off a tropical vibe.
